The "BREGER's" Patronymic

In French :

In the toponym dictionnary  "BREGER", var. Brejier, matron. Bregière, Bregis, der. de bregie, is barley pepared and used to produce bier, nickname of brewer, s. dér. Bregion, Bregionnier, Bregeras.

In German :     I will have to check in the German "toponym" dictionnary..... ( will be update !)

- BREG / PREG, a village in the Black Forest or a local toponyml, when you move from / to you were named "PREG'ER" meaning "he comes from". Even today in that region occasionally you will found some forms of PREGER or BREGER.

- PRAEGER / BRAEGER, a natif of Prague (Cz), could give BREGER over the years and different spellings. Not yet confirmed !

In Alsace, depending on the prononciation and who wrote the act, you can find BRAEGER, PRAEGER, BREGER even if the signature saus BREGER.
